Anchorage man gets 8 years for killing dog The Associated Press Published Monday, August 10, 2009 ANCHORAGE, Alaska - An Anchorage man will serve eight years in prison for killing his grandfather's dog as a punishment to his family. Prosecutors say Christopher Gleckler told relatives he shot the dog to punish them for caring more about the animal than they did about him.
